First created in , the sustainability beskrivning of choice for the Swedish fund industry has evolved and been upgraded several times over the years. Environmental and-or ethical marking of funds enrolled in the Swedish Pensions Agency
In order to get the green symbol, M/E, by the Swedish Pensions Agency the fund management company needs to, besides filling in the Hållbarhetsprofilen:
- Have a clear description of and a well defined process making sure the fund takes environmental and/or ethical considerations when investing.
- The direction to take environmental and/or ethical considerations must be explicit in information about the fund and when marketing the fund.
- The fund management company must also have a systematic and regular review of this direction (in the annual report and the semi annual report)
- The fund management company must, of course, in reality follow this direction when the fund is making its investments.

About Hållbarhetsprofilen
(Swesif's Sustainability Declaration for Funds)HP was created back in and has since been further developed with the aim of meeting the needs of fund savers and the general public to obtain information about, and be able to compare how funds apply sustainability criteria in a simple and clear way, and to describe how fund companies work with sustainable and responsible investments in their management.
In the future, the ambition is to make it compatible with the standardised template that fund companies already use with distributors, EET (European ESG Template). We have already started work on how we can best implement this and/or automate parts of the information upload to HP. If you would like to get involved in the work, you are welcome to contact someone in the Sustainability Profile project group.
