Augustpriset

(The August Prize)

Founded by the Swedish Publishers’ Association in , Augustpriset (named after Swedish author August Strindberg) is one of Sweden's most prestigious literary prizes. It is awarded in three categories: Best Swedish Fiction Book of the Year, Best Swedish Non-Fiction Book of the Year, and Best Swedish Children’s Book of the Year. Nominees are selected by a jury for each category, after which reader groups consisting of booksellers, librarians and critics elect the winners.

    • What was your first reaction when you found out that you were going to be a father?
      • Filled with joy and worry for the challenges to come.
    • When you knew you were going to be a father of a daughter, who or where did you turn to for advice?

      • Fun, loving, and comfortable to sleep on.

      • Hard to say. Every day is a new challenge.

      • Play hide and seek, run, swing and bathe.

      • Do not treat them differently than you would a boy. Teach them the same stuff.
