Mälartåg Single Ticket Adult

You can buy a single ticket for travel on Mälartåg's four lines at and the Mälartåg app. Mälartåg single ticket is an impersonal ticket valid for a specific departure and route with Mälartåg.

The right to travel at a reduced price

Children and Youth

When traveling with Mälartåg, you are always allowed to bring up to two children aged 6 or under per paying passenger.

The conditions for accompanying children apply to Adult and Youth/Student tickets, as well as the Movingo period ticket, regardless of where you purchased your ticket.

Additional accompanying children beyond two per paying passenger travel at a discounted price (youth/student).

Student

To get a student discount, you need to be studying at a rate of at least 75%. It must be possible to verify the rate of study with an ID document and a valid student ID with the SL symbol.

Tickets can be both personal and non-personal. A personal ticket is only valid for the named passenger.

Seat Reservation

Seat reservations are not available on Mälartåg. Seating is subject to availability.

Single Tickets

Mälartåg Single Ticket

Valid for travel on Mälartåg. The ticket is non-personal and valid for a specific departure and route. The ticket is sold in the Mälartåg app and via If the departure is canceled or replaced by a bus, the ticket is also valid on the next Mälartåg departure or designated replacement traffic.

Direct Tickets

A continuous ticket valid for multiple consecutive train journeys, each with a distance longer than kilometers, is considered a Direct Ticket. For example, a journey with Mälartåg between Örebro and Linköping with a transfer to another Mälartåg in Eskilstuna. Direct Tickets have an extended right to rebooking and compensation for delays, as well as handling missed connections.
